This record separates the project's current concept-development and synthesis methods from methods that would be required for an active study.
The Methods record explains how the project presently develops and evaluates its framework and knowledge records. It is not a protocol for an active human-participant study.
Current public record
Neurosexology is a founder-led developing project. Its present work consists of conceptual architecture, interdisciplinary synthesis, public knowledge translation, definition audits, and proposed research design. It does not currently report original participant findings.
Founder-led status is a disclosure, not a substitute for independent review.
Relevant concepts may be compared across neuroscience, psychology, physiology, sexual medicine, sociology, disability studies, ethics, qualitative inquiry, and public knowledge. A source is used for the claim it supports; adjacent disciplines are not collapsed into one undifferentiated authority.
The method first distinguishes capacity, pathway, accessibility, recruitment, state, experience, expression, report, interpretation, and mechanism. Relationships are proposed only after the terms and evidence layers are made visible.
Integration without prior separation can hide disagreement and manufacture certainty.
A bounded event is described before it is used to infer a person-level pattern or identity. Every future study must state why an event enters its sample and what that inclusion does and does not establish.
When inherited labels may be too coarse, first-person language and boundary cases are examined before a new scale or category is treated as settled. Corpus, cognitive-interview, and instrument-development methods remain proposed until governed studies exist.
Report, observation, physiological measurement, coding, inference, and mechanism are related evidence layers. None automatically becomes the whole event, and discordance is preserved as information rather than erased by default.
Records distinguish source report, definition, observation, literature finding, association, interpretation, hypothesis, proposed mechanism, proposed framework, research finding, governing commitment, and public explanation.
Implementation may clarify presentation but may not silently change a foundational term or governing proposition. Evidence, no-fit cases, or lived experience that expose a conceptual problem must trigger an explicit dependency review and versioned amendment.
A public explainer and its scientific companion share a central claim record while keeping distinct purposes, canonicals, sources, limitations, and correction paths.
The project has not completed independent governance review, exhaustive literature review across every record, formal evidence grading, validation of the framework, or a broad accessibility audit. Current claims must remain bounded by those absences.
Participant recruitment, eligibility, consent, sampling, instruments, data collection, privacy, analysis, adverse-event handling, withdrawal, compensation, publication, and public return must be defined in a separate protocol before any study opens.
A general Methods page cannot authorize participant research.
Version 1.0 establishes the public method boundary on August 9, 2026. No material corrections are recorded. Clarifications and amendments will be logged through the Corrections record rather than silently rewritten.
