Neurosexology studies how the human organism makes sexual experience possible and organizes it across conditions and time.
Rather than beginning with an organ, behavior, diagnosis, or identity category as though it were the whole phenomenon, Neurosexology asks how capacities and pathways become accessible, discovered, recruited, configured, experienced, expressed, and patterned.
How does the human organism organize its capacities into sexual experience?
Neurosexology studies how an event becomes sexual within the organism: what may be possible, which pathways are available, what becomes recruited, how those components are configured, what state emerges, what the person experiences, and what becomes expressed.

The organism
The brain, genitals, physiology, behavior, identity, relationship, culture, and first-person report can each reveal part of an event. None is automatically treated as the whole phenomenon. The organism is the system in which those levels meet.

Separate, then relate
Neurosexology separates capacities, pathways, accessibility, discovery, recruitment, configuration, state, experience, expression, conditions, feedback, and pattern—then studies how one level informs, constrains, complicates, or changes another.

Legibility, inquiry, and public return
The field develops clearer questions, distinctions, research methods, and public language so that knowledge about bodies can return to the people whose experiences it describes.
Why a field?
Integration without erasure.
Each contributing discipline holds essential knowledge. But nervous-system activity, bodily events, lived experience, behavior, relationship, identity, culture, regulation, and meaning do not remain separated within the person. Neurosexology studies how those levels interact without pretending to replace the disciplines, methods, or forms of evidence it connects.
Integration does not mean treating every form of evidence as equivalent. It means preserving what each level can establish, where its limits lie, and how it changes the interpretation of another.

The architecture of experience
From possibility to pattern.
The Capacity–Pathway Framework traces the distance between what may be possible for an organism and what becomes lived, observable, and patterned in a person’s life.

Possibility and routes
Capacity asks what may be possible. Pathway asks through which route that capacity may become available or participate in experience.

Availability and history
Accessibility asks how available a pathway is now. Discovery asks whether the person has encountered or recognized it.

Active organization
Recruitment identifies what enters an event. Configuration describes how those components are arranged. State names the dynamic organism-level condition that emerges.

Lived and observable manifestation
Experience is the first-person lived dimension. Expression is how the event becomes physiologically, behaviorally, communicatively, relationally, or otherwise observable.

Context and change
Conditions shape the whole system. Feedback and time let one event alter the next. Pattern names recurring or probabilistic tendencies across events and time.
Sexual language and research often compress several levels into one term: arousal, pleasure, desire, consent, orgasm, behavior, identity, or dysfunction. Neurosexology separates those levels, then investigates how they inform, constrain, complicate, or change one another.

That the Capacity–Pathway Framework is already empirically validated.
That Neurosexology replaces appropriate clinical care or existing disciplines.
The map is not the body.
Frameworks are representations, not substitutes for lived organisms.
The person outranks the framework.
When experience does not fit the model, the framework may be incomplete.

From system to pattern
How does a field of study meet the life being studied?
Neurosexuality is the evolving person-level pattern through which sexual capacities and pathways become accessible, discovered, recruited, configured, experienced, expressed, and understood across conditions and time.
A person’s neurosexuality may include recurring tendencies in sensation, attention, desire, attraction, fantasy, relationship, behavior, meaning, and identity—but it is not reducible to any one of them.
The terms have histories. This formulation makes a specific contribution.
Neurosexology is being developed through interdisciplinary synthesis, public-language work, and proposed research. Its terms and relationships are offered for operationalization, criticism, comparison, and revision—not as a final account of the body.
The words neurosexology and neurosexuality did not begin with this project. Neurosexology has appeared in clinical neurological work on sexual function and dysfunction, including a European Federation of Neurological Societies task-force guideline. Neurosexuality has been developed in neurorehabilitation as a transdisciplinary framework concerned with relationships among sexuality, the brain, neurological disability, rehabilitation, and care.
This project acknowledges those histories. It uses Neurosexology for a broader organism-level field centered on the organization of sexual experience, and it uses Neurosexuality for the evolving person-level pattern through which capacities and pathways become accessible, discovered, recruited, configured, experienced, expressed, and understood across conditions and time.
The Capacity–Pathway Framework and this organism-level formulation of Neurosexology were developed and principally architected by Nicholas Julian Madison through interdisciplinary synthesis, public-language development, and sustained inquiry into how human sexual experience becomes possible and patterned.
They are offered as testable, corrigible contributions—not as claims that the underlying phenomena, component sciences, or terms were invented from nothing.
